Some of the most popular and well-known non-profit organizations have been putting on house raffles for years. For example, Ronald McDonald House Charities have been completedon seven successful house raffles in order to raise money for their charity, which helps give the families of sick children a place to stay during medical visits. Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, located in Indiana, will put on their 20th house raffle this year.
The good thing is that it is not just well-known non-profit organizations that are benefitting from successful house raffles, many others do as well. The question remains, if house raffles are as unsuccessful as some people may think, why are charities putting them on annually?
While researching for this blog, I found that many non-profits who are putting on house raffles this year are on their 6th, 7th, and even 20th annual house raffle. Whether the raffle winner’s from these raffles are taking the home or the money, something great must be going right because for the non-profits to continue to conductput on house raffles every year.
Here are a few of upcoming 2011 annual raffles:

• United Way of Southeast Mississippi- 9th Annual House Raffle
